Minimal cookies, maximum transparency.

What we use

Three categories, one we don't use

We distinguish between what's essential to operate, what helps us improve, and what we deliberately avoid.

Strictly Necessary

Required

Required for authentication and session management. Cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality. No consent required under GDPR.

Analytics

Anonymised

Vercel Analytics collects anonymised, aggregated page view data — URL, referrer, country, device type. No personal identifiers. No persistent cookie.

Advertising & Tracking

Not used

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, retargeting scripts, heat-mapping tools or any cross-site tracking. None. Ever.

Strictly necessary storage

What we store and why

Both items are stored in localStorage — not as HTTP cookies. They are never transmitted automatically to the server and are only readable by Sentinel's own JavaScript.

sentinel_session_id

Keeps you logged in as you navigate between pages.

Duration: Until logout or account deletion
Why: Without this, you would be logged out on every page navigation.
sentinel_active_org

Remembers which organisation you last selected for seamless multi-organisation switching.

Duration: Until logout or cleared manually
Why: Teams with multiple organisations need persistent context to avoid re-selecting on every visit.
What we don't use

Tools we deliberately excluded

Google Analytics, Google Ads or any Google tracking pixel
Facebook Pixel or Meta advertising cookies
Cross-site tracking identifiers or fingerprinting
Retargeting or behavioural advertising cookies
Third-party social media tracking widgets
Heat-mapping or session recording tools (e.g. Hotjar, FullStory)
Intercom, Drift or any live-chat tracking SDK
A/B testing or personalisation services with data sharing
Managing preferences

How to clear your storage

Since Sentinel uses only strictly necessary local storage and minimal anonymised analytics, we do not display a cookie consent banner. To clear Sentinel's local storage:

Chrome / Edge

Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data

Firefox

Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data

Safari

Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove All

Clearing local storage will log you out of the Sentinel application.
